Harriet Tubman was an activist who helped many slaves escape to freedom. At first she escaped to freedom and was happy, but then she decided to go back and help others escape to freedom so they could share that same joy. She didn't have to, but she wanted to. She wanted to go back and risk her own life and freedom to help others in need of support and guidance.She played a huge role in helping people in the Underground Railroad. She did all of this because she was an intelligent, full- spirited woman who believed that African Americans had the right to be free!!! Text and html: Wali M., Julian Middle
