Anna
Eleanor Roosevelt was born on October 11, 1884 in New York. Her father
was Elliot Roosevelt and her mother was Anna Hall. Her father was President
Theodore Roosevelt's younger brother. When she was just a young girl
both her parents died. Her mother died in 1892, and her father died in
1894. After her mother's death, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt went to live with
her grandmother in Tivoli, New York. There she was educated with private
tutors, until age 15 where she was sent to Allenswood, a school in England
for young ladies. She stayed in school there until age 18 when she returned
to New York where she lived with her cousins.
