George Washington

George Washington was a very important man in United States history. He was born on February 11,1731. But according to the calender that is used today he as born February 22,1732. He was born at Popes Creek Plantation in Virginia. His parents were Augustine Washington and Mary Ball. His father died in 1743, so he went to go live in Mount Vernon with his half brother Lawrence. During his lifetime he was home schooled, and later he went to College of William and Mary. As a child George survived small pox, although during the rest of his life he had scars on his face from the disease. Lawrence died in 1752 of Tuberculosis.
