Early Life

C V RamanAt 19, he became a member of the Indian Association of Cultivation of Science. When he was young, he was mainly interested in acoustics, the science of sound.But later in his life however he became more interested in optics.In 1902, and in 1904 he passed his B.A. examination, winning the first place and the gold medal in physics. He joined the Indian Civil Services as an Assistant Accountant General in Kolkata, India. In 1924, he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society for his contribution to optics.
